Questions Common to ‘Newbies’ to the Breed:What do I need for grooming a Shih Tzu? A good Pin Brush. One soft enough not to tear hair excessively. It should have polished tips that are not wider than the bristle itself. A ‘Slicker’ (the brushes that are a flat square with wire teeth- used for gently combing out matts and pulling out under-coat) A small metal comb (4 1/2”- 5") for faces A larger metal comb (7” or 8”) for the rest of the body Do not comb your dog dry! Mix conditioner with water and keep in a spray bottle for grooming.
