Pien Ji means 'Topknot' in Chinese. It seemed like a very appropriate kennel name. I'm a relative newcomer to the breed- I got my first Shih Tzu in 2000. I came into the breed with a million questions- perhaps I can answer some of them for you here! I am a board member of the Gig Harbor Kennel Club, as well as being webmaster of their website. I am also a member of the Puget Sound Shih Tzu Fanciers, and Webmaster of their website. Though I only had my first litter in October of 2002, I am working hard to establish a reputation as a good breeder to work with. I bought my Shih Tzu from two of the best- Carole Delaney and JoAnn Gustafson, and I will ever strive to be as good to my buyers as they have been to me. As of July 2003, I had my first Champion- CH Ningsia's Chun Kee Bob. He's a true joy to live with- sweet and charming. The line he comes from (he's by CH Ningsia's I'm a Keeper who is out of CH Mei San's No Need to Explain) is known for being exceptionally sweet, and Bob is no exception. Even in this sweet breed, he is a stand out for being a little love bug! And his offspring are proving that the passes the temperament on! All of my dogs are of a very loving temperament, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Charlee Byford |
